IP Engineering position available! IP Engineering position available! Intelecom is one of the fastest growing Integrated Communications providers on Long Island. As we extend our reach throughout the NY Metropolitan area, Intelecom has an urgent need for an IP Engineer.Our very competitive enhanced telecommunications product line includes VOIP, video conferencing, integrated voice and data services, internet access, switched and dedicated local (UNE-P), long distance, phone and data equipment to small and mid-sized businesses.
The Intelecom IP Engineer will assist with management and implementation of Intelecom Solutions data infrastructure supporting both data and vocie services. This includes: Managing voice mail, connecting new VOIP telephones, router network management and providing data and telecommunications help desk services to clients.
Specific qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge and understanding of IP network technologies including routing, layer 2 and layer 3 switching, VLAN's, VPN's and firewalls.
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP and SNMP.
- Knowledge of security processes, policies and protocols.
- Ability to troubleshoot and isolate BGP, OSPF, HSRP, layer 2, VLAN and VPN problems.
- Ability to work with Uni-cast: RIP, OSPF, IS-IS and BGP4; Multi-cast: IGMP V1 & V2, PIM-SM, PIM-DM, MBGP, MSDP, MPLS/BGP L3 VPN.
- Ability to speak modern Chinese is a plus.
Experience and Qualification Ratings:
- CCNA Minimal with CCIE preferred.
- CISCO * 4 (Very Strong) or 5 (Expert)
- JJ PRO Qualifications 3+ years
- Cisco IOS 11.x, 12.x * 3 (Moderately Strong) of 5 (Expert)
- Cisco Routers * 3 (Moderately Strong) of 5 (Expert)
- Cisco Switches * 3 (Moderately Strong) of 5 (Expert)
- Cisco Works * 3 (Moderately Strong) of 5 (Expert)
- Exchange 5.5 * 3 (No Familiarity) of 5 (Expert)
- TCP/IP * 4 (Very Strong) of 5 (Expert)
- UNIX * 0 (No Familiarity) of 5 (Expert)
- Windows NT * 0 (No Familiarity) of 5 (Expert)
